Panaji: Bharatiya Janata Party has condemned the statement by GPCC chief Amit Patkar against party’s Goa unit chief Sadanand Shet Tanavade.

Party’s Goa social media incharge Rupesh Kamat and spokesman Yatish Naik addressed a press conference in Panaji to condemn the statement of Patkar.

Kamat said that Patkar has parashooted in Congress from nowhere while Tanavade has walked up the ladder to this position in the party.

The BJP leader said that Patkar has no right to speak against Tanvade.

“The way he spoke about RSS. I challenge him to come to RSS and see how person attending shakha is imbibed with patrotism,” Kamat said objecting to the statement that RSS was nowhere during the Freedom struggle.

He recalled that Dr Keshav Baliram Hegdewar was jailed for participating in the freedom movement for one year and his release was celebrated by many including then Congressmen.

“In the year 1921 he was arrested and he was sentenced for one year. he refused to take the Bail. 1922 he was released and outside the jail, there was celebration and he was welcomed.”
