Panaji: Following statement by Congress leader A Chellakumar doubting the authentity of Pulwama attack, BJP resorted to question his party on its stand over the issue.
BJP also took out morcha on the office of Congress and burnt the effigy of Chellakumar.
BJP National Spokesman Nupur Sharma addressing a press conference sought to know from Congress President Rahul Gandhi what is the actual position of his party on Pulwama Terror Attack.
“Are you again doubting the service and sacrifice of our brave soldier? Are you again asking for the proof? Are you again giving clean chit to those who have claimed the responsibility? Thereby giving clean chit to Pakistan?,” she questioned.
All India Congress Committee Secretary A Chellakumar on Wednesday had said that recently a video clipping had surfaced which showed that Godhra incident was planned by BJP.
“If it is so why not Pulwama incidents also? They have identified Jawans’ bodies but where is the body of terrorists. So far they have not been able to show terrorists body to the people,” he had said
Sharma said that the Congress was singing Pakistani tunes again and again and exposing its face of siding with Pakistan of absolving the terrorists of all the wrongdoings.
“Inspite of political grandstanding of Congress National President Rahul Gandhi, who told media that they are not going to politicise the current ongoings, their media head and national spokesman (Randeep) Surjewala in a press conference went ahead and questioned and raised doubts saying “those so-called terrorists”. And now there is a statement of Chellakumar,” she said.
Sharma questioned whether Congress was giving clean chit certificates to terrorists. “In this case (of Pulwama attack), JeM has claimed responsibility for dastardly attack on our Jawans,” she said.
“Why is it that it is only the Congress party which has all the doubts to raise, all the questions to ask of our Defence Forces and personnel while their leader hug the Army chief of Pakistan. Why is that congress leaders calls our army chief a sadak ka goonda,” the spokesman said.
She said that “to right thinking people, in the current scenario, the political grandstanding of national president of congress is directly not proportionate to the statements that comes from other leaders in responsible positions of Congress party.”
She questioned whether Congress was “working on some under cover instructions to absolve terror from across the border by raising a cover of doubt, calling them so called and home grown, asking for proof and now questioning whether our brave soldiers were martyred in Pulwama.”
“Is this how low your politics will stoop that you will play dirty politics over dead bodies? It is extremely unfortunate and highly condemnable,” she commented.
Taking dig at Rahul Gandhi, Sharma commented “it was this very president of Congress party, who three years ago , went in stood and support of those very anti-nationals who celebrated terrorist attacks on our jawans, who celebrated that India lost its brave soldiers. That very president went in support of people who were mourning punishment meted out to convicted terrorist.”
“Is this an underhanded shadow way of congress party showing where actual politics lies? Inspite of grandstanding, there has been utterances against our jawans, retired or service otherwise which is absolutely unbecoming of respectful public discourse,” she added.
