Panaji: BJP South Goa candidate Pallavi Dempo on Wednesday began her campaign for Lok Sabha poll by praying to Lord Damodar in Vasco town.

Dempo accompanied by BJP Goa President Sadanand Shet Tanavade and other leaders offered prayers to Lord Damodar, a local deity before starting her campaign.

Talking to reporters, Tanavade said that the party is “hundred per cent sure of winning the South Goa seat.” “People will vote for the party as they want our leader Narendra Modi as the Prime minister again. We have also given a woman candidate in this constituency,” he said.

The BJP leader said that they have been receiving tremendous response from the time Dempo has started campaigning. She would be campaigning in Vasco and Dabolim assembly constituencies on Wednesday, followed by Shiroda and Ponda assembly constituencies on Thursday.

Tanavade said that the party will win with a whopping margin of 60,000 votes in South Goa.

The South Goa parliamentary seat is currently held by Congress MP Francisco Sardinha.
During her interaction with the media persons, Dempo said that she is confident of winning the seat. “There is positivity amongst the voters and party workers which will drive our campaign,” she said.
