Panaji: BJP leaders including Goa unit chief Vinay Tendulkar held extensive meetings in Panaji today to zero in on the candidate for Mapusa by-election.
Sources stated that Tendulkar along with State General Secretary Satish Dhond held meeting with the councilors of Mapusa Municipal Council who are affiliated to BJP and then met local Mandal.
The election is necessitated after the untimely death of BJP MLA Francis D’Souza. D’Souza’s son Joshua, personal secretary to chief minister Manohar Parrikar, Rupesh Kamat and MMC veteran Sudhir Kandolkar in the race for coveted ticket.
