BJP and its allies begins meeting to decide next leader in Goa

Panaji: The partners of BJP-led alliance government on Sunday began discussions about their new leader, minutes after the demise of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar.

Parrikar, 63, died on Sunday after fighting back pancreatic ailment for over a year.

Goa Forward Party’s all the three MLAs led by State Town and Country Planning Minister Vijai Sardesai, MGP’s three MLAs headed by State Transport Minister Sudin Dhavalikar, BJP’s State Organisational General Secretary Satish Dhond, Independent MLA and State Revenue Minister Rohan Khaunte, State Art and Culture Minister Govind Gawade participated in the meeting.

Dhond, who left the meeting mid-way, refused to talk to media, when asked about the new leader.
