Panaji: In a joint operation, Goa Police along with their counterparts in Bihar and Nepal arrested a man who has conned almost 250 people in the coastal state.
Accused Noor Ahmad, originally from Bihar, was arrested, this week, by a team of Goa Police, Bihar Police and Nepal Police.
A senior police officer said that Ahmad was brought to Goa by a team of Crime Branch officials who had apprehended him while trying to cross the border and enter Nepal.
He said that the accused has duped not less than 250 people of which 70 have officially filed complained against him with Goa police.
The official said that the accused used to lure the people with an offer of providing them a flat. After taking money from several people, the accused fled the state.
He said that the team of Goa, Bihar and Nepal police with a joint coordination arrested the accused.
Goa Police have appealed people not to fall pray for the financial schemes offered by people with dubious records.
