Panaji: AAP Goa Convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday visited the temple in North Goa along with the party leaders where he prayed to the deity, but refused to speak about politics while speaking to the media.

Kejriwal, who has arrived in the coastal state on Wednesday on the three-day-long visit, went to Shree Swami Samarth Parivar Temple at Siolim village in North Goa. He was accompanied by Delhi’s Leader of Opposition Atishi Marlena, party’s Goa President Valmiki Naik and others.

“Sorry!I don’t want to talk about politics in the temple,” said Kejriwal when asked about the upcoming Goa Assembly elections by media persons.

He, however, said that he prayed for the prosperity and well-being of Goans in the temple. “I felt good coming here. I prayed for the well-being and prosperity of the Goans,” the former Delhi chief minister said, talking to reporters.

The party has said that Kejriwal’s visit is to strengthen the party’s base and strategise for the upcoming Goa Assembly election. AAP has two MLAs in the State legislative Assembly.
