Panaji: BJP National President Amit Shah would chair a high-level meeting on the issue of resumption of mining in Goa on Friday in New Delhi.
Goa chief minister Pramod Sawant who is also holding mining portfolio would be participating in the meeting which is scheduled in the evening.
“Sawant will attend a High Level Meeting on Goa Mining matter Chaired by Amit Shah along with Union Mines Minister Pralhad Joshi at New Delhi on Friday at 4:00 PM,” said a statement released here by Chief Minister’s Office.
He said that State’s Advocate General Devidas Pangam will also be present for the meeting.
The mining activity in the State has come to standstill since last one and half year after Supreme Court quashed 88 mining leases.
Sawant had raised the issue during the recent meeting of NITI Ayog which was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
