Air travelers to Goa will have to carry covid negative certificate, or get tested, or quarantine for 14 days

Vasco:  The Goa airport on Wednesday issued advisory for the inbound passengers making it mandatory to carry covid-19 negative certificate during their travel to the coastal state.

The airport Authority of India, which manages the facility, has also said that those who don’t carry COVID-19 negative certificate from ICMR certified labs, will have to undergo 14 days home or paid quarantine upon their arrival in the state.

The AAI has said that “COVID test shall be done for all symptomatic passengers and they will have to undergo institutional quarantine till the test results are available.”

The passengers will have to produce a COVID-19 negative certificate issued by ICMR recognized lab, not older than 48 hours prior to the arrival in Goa, the advisory reads.

The passenger can also opt for swab test upon arrival at a cost of Rs 2,000 and remain instutional or home quarantine till the results are declared.

As far as tourists are concerned, the advisory has also made it mandatory for them to have pre-booking of the hotels, which are registered with Department of Tourism.

“All tourists will have to undergo basic screening at the entry point. Any tourist exhibiting sickness or COVID-19 related symptoms upon arrival will be subjected to a test at designated testing centres/hospitals at tourist’s cost,” the advisory reads.
