Panaji: Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced ‘Accessible elections’ as the theme for the ensuing Parliamentary polls 2019.
Chief Electoral office (CEO) Goa is working in that direction to ensure that election process is easier and accessible for the differently-abled people.
A meeting was convened by the CEO today to gather valuable inputs from the institutions dedicated to the cause of the Persons with Disabilities.
CEO IAS Kunal said that ECI is committed for inclusion of all categories of voters in the electoral process to achieve the desired objective of universal adult suffrage as per its constitutional mandate.
“ECI aim is to make the elections Inclusive and ethical, so that voters are informed about electoral decision and not one made based on inducement or fear,” he said.
