Panaji: AAP Goa on Sunday reiterated their demand that Goa government should immediately comply with the directions of High Court on Tiger Reserve, at the backdrop of the statement by Union Minister Prahlad Joshi.

AAP MLA Venzy Viegas was reacting to the news item which had claimed that Joshi had said that Tiger Reserve is the biggest hurdle in going ahead with Mhadei project for Karnataka.

In a media statement issued here, the AAP has said that Sawant-led government must “urgently take concrete steps to comply with the Bombay High Court judgment and notify the Mhadei Tiger reserve.”

“It is the surest, God given solution to save Mhadei and  Goa,” the Arvind Kejriwal-led party has said.

The AAP has said that the statement of Union Minister Prahlad Joshi is evidence that the Tiger Reserve will “block progress of Karnataka’s projects to divert Mhadei waters outside the basin.”

Viegas said that in January when the Mhadei water diversion issue was discussed in the House, his proposal for a Mhadei tiger reserve was summarily rejected by the treasury benches.

“I had proposed it based on advice of experts and supporting data,” he said.

Viegas said “You should listen to experts.   The Sawant govt ignores advice of experts.”
