Aam Aadmi Party today commissioned its medical equipment facilitating unit in Colva village with Mina Rodrigues as the president and Emelina Fernandes as the vice president at a function where AAP State Women leader Adv Malissa Simoes was present.
Congratulating the women for coming forward to join this initiative of AAP, Malissa asked them to take AAP’s mission and vision to as many people as possible in their village so that people know what bold initiatives AAP has taken in Delhi.
“Goa also needs healthcare and education facilities as provided by AAP government in Delhi and there is no need for Goans to pay exorbitant fees for visiting private doctors or hospitals and getting their children educated in private schools,” she said.
Earlier similar units were started in Carmona, Cavelossim and Benaulim and many people have benefitted under it. While a walker was given to one person from Ollwado in Carmona, another person in Benaulim got a wheel chair.
Two persons were given hospital beds while one was from Fatrade and other was from Rodrigues vado in Cavelossim who used the bed for three months before passing away.
Capt Venzy Viegas who initiated this unit said he was inspired by the Mohalla Clinics in Delhi and thought of starting this facility to reduce the cost of the patients and their family members and said the unit will provide whatever medical equipment required by anybody at the ward level in the villages.
