Panaji: Aam Admi Party, Goa has demanded that the rate for the slab of 400 plus units of electricity be reduced for the months of April and May.
AAP Goa leader Valmiki Naik said that the party has submitted a memorandum to CEE demanding that the rate for the slab of 400+ units be reduced for the months of April & May, as the overuse was due to lockdown. This is the minimum that your Govt can do.
In a press note referred to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Naik said “So far you have done NOTHING to provide relief to the common man. The only financial relief you have provided was to construction workers, which has also turned out to be a scam. If you don’t take action in 7 days, we will have to agitate for this relief.”
WE DON’T NEED YOUR DEPT TO TELL US WHY CONSUMPTION INCREASED
In a statement referring to Power Minister Nilesh Cabral, Naik said “We don’t need your electricity dept to tell us why the consumption increased.”
“We know it very well, because WE were the ones who were stuck at home due to lockdown.”
“We played our part in making Goa corona-free, and now you are penalising us for being disciplined and following Govt’s instructions?
“It’s INEVITABLE that the consumption would increase, but it was out of compulsion, not choice. Don’t talk to us as if we were throwing parties or knowingly wasting electricity during this period.”
