46 new cases, one death in Goa on Monday

Panaji: Goa on Monday reported first COVID-19 death while 46 fresh cases were also detected on a single day.

State health minister Vishwajit Rane on Monday confirmed death of a 85-year-old man from Morlem in Sattari taluka. This was the first death caused due to COVID-19 in the state.

The Health department said that  out of total 1190 samples were tested on Monday, 884 were negative while 260 reports are awaited. Fresh 46 infections were reported during the day on Monday by the officials.

During the day, 17 patients were also cured and discharged from the COVID-19 facilities set up in the state.

Mangor Hill locality in Vasco town which has been declared as a containment zone continued to contribute for the fresh cases even on Monday.

The infection was also in a major number from Salcette taluka of South Goa.
