29 people lost their lives in road accidents in June

Panaji: The State traffic police have informed that total 29 people lost their lives in road accidents reported in the month of June.

The Directorate of Transport has compiled their monthly report of number of accidents that occurred and the total Challans that were issued in June month.

As per the report there were 268 road accidents of which 24 were Fatal Accidents (North Goa – 13 and South Goa – 11), 9 were Grievous Accidents (North Goa – 5 and South Goa – 4), 53 were accidents of Minor nature  (North Goa – 24 and South Goa – 29) and 182 Non – Injury Accidents (North Goa – 102 and South Goa – 80).

The total number of persons who lost their lives in road accidents were 29 (North Goa – 17 and South Goa – 12). This included 15 riders, four pillion riders, one driver,  7 Pedestrian, 2 Passenger  lost their lives.

12 people were Grievously Injured (North – 8 and South – 4) while 75 persons suffered Minor Injuries (North – 32 South – 43).

A total 6227 Challans were issued by Transport authorities for various violations of traffic rules.
