Panaji: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Monday conducted a detailed review meeting with officials of PWD Dept, WRD Dept and Panchayat body of Keri to look into the matter of the Iron content in water.
Rane said “I have given instructions to the PWD officials to draw water samples & send them to Laboratory for further evaluation. The officials have been requested to inspect for an alternate location to set up a water pump to continue providing clean water to the people of Keri Panchayat.”
“We need to find a way to directly pump water of the dam into the tank and send it further for filtration.”
“The PWD officials will be sending a detailed report on the findings in 7 days. However, the latest preliminary report suggests that the Iron content in water is within permissible limits.”
“We shall be closely monitoring the situation. I request the people of Keri to not have any apprehensions.”
“Prompt action is already initiated in the interest and for the safety of the people of Keri so that they continue to have clean water through the filtration plants.”
