Panaji: Goa on Friday tested 20 people positive for COVID-19 infection even as state health authorities began testing of some targeted groups in the state.
As per State health bulletin, 20 new infection was reported while nine people were recovered during the day.
State Health Minister Vishwajit Rane told reporters on Friday that Swab testing was underway at Paithona village in Porvorim Assembly constituency near Panaji when one person was found positive there.
Rane said that the health workers also screened 240 migrant workers at a construction of Mopa Airport, a Greenfield project currently being constructed in North Goa.
Meanwhile, Health department official said that out of 3269 samples tested, 2015 were negative, 20 are positive and 1234 reports are awaited.
As per the bulletin, the infection has spread across all the state including Sada, Baina, New Vaddem in Vasco town and Indiranagar in Chimbel and Morlem in North Goa.
