Colva: Colva Police booked 12 for moving suspiciously, creating nuisance in Varca area and rounded up another 22 and initiated Stranger roll:
In early hours of 13/08/24, upon information that unknown persons from other states are moving suspiciously in Varca area, some are creating nuisance and disturbing peace of locals. Colva Police took prompt action to reach the spot. Rounded up total 34 persons. 12 were booked under 35 of BNSS and action of stranger roll was initiated against 22 persons.
Before this Colva Police booked 5 for Touting under Tourist Trade Act on 12/08/24. They are being produced today on 13/08/24 before Tourism department
That on 12/08/2024 Colva Police booked 5 person for touting to the tourist by issuing pamphlets and providing free prizes inside coupons to the tourist/Guest who are moving at Colva area thereby causing obstruction to the tourist and commuters. Upon questioning the said person could not produce any official authorization to act as guide/agent. hence they were apprehended by police to prevent them from cawere booked U/s 2(g) r/w 26 of the Goa Daman and Diu Registration of Tourist Trade Act, 1982.
