Vasco: Goa Forward Party chief Vijai Sardesai has demanded that Zuari Indian Oil Tanking Limited should be made to pay for the disaster at Vasco in which the oil was found in the wells of the locals.
Sardesai wrote on “X” handle: “Shocking environmental disaster by Zuari Indian Oil Tanking Limited as oil leaks into groundwater. This man-made catastrophe demands urgent action. It’s time to uphold the polluter pays principle – the company must face significant penalties and provide ample compensation for the extensive damage to groundwater, paddy fields, and our precious ecology.”
