Margao: The pictures on the facebook by a senior functionary of Zambaulim Temple reportedly doing “shuddikaran” (purification), hours after a group of 15 BJP supported Margao Municipal Councillors swore before the God are going viral.
A group of 15 councillors from different faiths had swore before Lord Damodar at Zambaulim to prove that they did not cross vote. Interestingly, the BJP backed candidate had polled 10 votes while the other candidate Ghanashyam Shirodkar had won with 15 votes.
The development had rattled Digambar Kamat and the BJP camps in Margao. All the 15 councillors were paraded before the chief minister and after that they went to Zambaulim Temple to swear.
Eye witnesses revealed that all the 15 councillors swore holding holy coconut in their hand that they did not cross vote.
What was more interesting is that the Damodar Temple management went for purification after their visit. The pictures posted by Temple Committee President Manjunath Duckle on the Facebook shows the process of purification going on in the temple.
It was believed that some of the councilors had arrived at the temple after eating non-veg food due to which the purification is taken up.
