Calangute police have arrested one Mr. Saddam Hussain Molla S/o Mohabul Mondal, age 26 yrs, N/o Dakshin Dinajpur, West Bengal during a narcotic raid conducted on 13/11/2018 at, Calangute market.
PI Jivba Dalvi informed that reliable information was received regarding the accused person coming at back side of Calangute market, Naikawado, Calangute along with some drugs for delivery to prospective customers.
Accordingly a team was formed consisting of LPSI Sapna Gawas and other staff and further the police waited at Calangute market, Calangute in civil clothes. Upon seeing the accused coming at the spot the police immediately rounded him up and detained him at the spot.
During the personal search the he was found in possession of Ganja worth Rs. 24,000/- in international market.
The accused was brought at police station and placed under arrest. An offence under section 20(b)(ii)(A) of NDPS Act, 1985 has been registered.
The raid went on from 09:30 pm to 11:00 pm during the night.
The raiding team consisted of LPSI Sapna Gawas, constables Dinesh Morajkar, Vallabh Pednekar and Vinod Kerkar and other staff.
Further investigation is in progress with PSI Mahesh Naik under the supervision of PI Jivba Dalvi, SDPO Kiran Poduwal and SP North Chandan Choudhary, IPS.
