Panaji: Wishing everyone on the occasion of Goa Liberation Day, Chief minister Pramod Sawant on Monday said that the coastal state is steadily inching closer to the dream of a Golden Goa.
“It is a pride to be a part of the progressive journey of Goa’s Development. We are steadily inching closer to our dream of a ‘Golden Goa’. Warm greetings to the people of Goa on the occasion of #GoaLiberationDay,” Sawant said in a message released on his social media.
The chief minister has also given Heartiest wishes to all Goan brothers and sisters on the occasion of Goa Liberation Day. “The sacrifices and efforts of our revolutionary freedom fighters will be eternally cherished,” he said.
“I take this opportunity to salute the brave soldiers of Indian Armed Forces who led ‘Operation Vijay’ and bestowed the state of Goa with ‘Liberation’ from a centuries long colonial oppression,” he added.
The former Portuguese colony is celebrating 61st Liberation day.
