Panaji: While giving 48 hours’ deadline for Goa Congress President Girish Chodankar to tender apology for alleged false accusations, Goa’s BJP minister Vishwajit Rane said that “Rahul Gandhi might even join TMC some other day.”

In a video message that is released refuting the allegations of being involved in scam around auctioning of the lands earlier allotted to Special Economic Zones, Rane, who holds Industries Minister portfolio in State government, said that he would be filing defamation case against Chodankar in next 48 hours, if he fails to apologise.

“I have no role as far as SEZ is concerned … you need to withdraw the statement otherwise I will file defamation suite against you,” Rane said referring to Chodankar.

“I will make sure that this case sees the logical end. I appeal to the congress party, and your leaders, who are remaining… may be one day your Rahul Gandhi may also join the TMC because Rahul Gandhi seems to have his brains in his knees, that is a type of party that you run,” he commented.

Rane said that the Congress party has run out of ideas and mass contact, and hence, is indulging in such kind of publicity gimmick.

The Industries minister pointed out that the Congress has been reduced to the party of only two MLAs – Digambar Kamat and Pratapsingh Rane (father of the minister).

“Congress is getting eradicated from Goa. Even my father is not interested in the party,” Rane said.
