Fatorda: Goa Forward Party chief Vijai Sardesai has said that Goa government declaring Ram Navami as a public holiday is acceptance of his demand.
Sardesai tweeted “ GLAD @GovtofGoa FINALLY SAW THE LIGHT. After initially rejecting my consistent pleas, both in the Assembly and in my letter to the Chief Secretary in March, for making #Ramanavami a holiday,
@BJP4Goa
Govt has now accepted my argument that the devotion and reverence in which the people of #Goa hold Lord Ram should be reciprocated with a holiday. It required enormous time and energy to convince the BJP that Lord Ram should not be used for political convenience, but must be revered and celebrated for the continued relevance his life holds for us.”
