Panaji: Goa police came into sharp criticism when a team of Valpoi police led by Inspector Sagar Ekoskar high handedly arrested three persons for holding press conference against proposed IIT at Guleli in Sattari.
In a video clip that went viral, Ekoskar has been seen disregarding the media presence while questioning all the four men for holding a press conference.
The video clip also shows a policeman pushing a young boy who was shooting the entire incident.
Police arrested Shubham Shivolkar, Pandurang Shivolkar and Ram Melekar from Melauli village.
The action has earned ire for Goa Police department which had recently seen Mukesh Kumar Meena taking over the charge.
The instance has brought to light the police highhandedness in state’s rural areas bringing embarrassment to Pramod Sawant led government.
