Panaji: Daughter of Churchill Alemao, Valanka has thrown her hat in the ring for Lok Sabha polls from South Goa Parliamentary Constituency.
With her father remaining in the Nationalist Congress Party, Valanka has lobbied to be Congress candidate. This also makes Congress to have two women aspirants in South Goa for Lok Sabha.
Sources stated that Valanka has already put her claim for the ticket. She was also trying for the same in the past but had not succeded.
Interestingly, Alemao family has parted ways from Congress with Churchill going with Sharad Pawar-led party while Joaquim and his son Yuri joining Goa Forward Party.
Congress is yet to shortlist the names for Lok Sabha in both the constituencies from Goa. One of the front runner from South, Luizinho Faleiro has already opted out of the race leaving behind Francis Sardinha, Pratima Coutinho, Girish Chodankar amongst others in the race.
