Panaji: Shiv Sena Mahila Aghadi President Shreha Dhargalkar has demanded that unlawful transfers of the government staff under political pressure should be stopped.

In a press note issued,  Dhargalkar has urged government  that there has been lot of government staff who have been facing transfers because of political reasons. The rivalry between two politicians usually results in the staff being transferred.

She said that the staff is transferred to such long distances that it becomes difficult for them to travel every day. Also it becomes expensive for them to travel because of the petrol cost.

Dhargalkar has demanded that there should be proper policy under which harassment at the hands of political masters should be avoided. Also, the government staff, specially who are working at lower level, should not be transferred more than 20 kms away from his residence.

She said that this will help in good functioning of the Government.

In yet another issue, Dhargalkar has demanded with the government that the promotions to the senior levels at Police Department should be done as per the experience. There are several officers who are stuck at Assistant Sub Inspector Level while young boys have become Police Sub Inspectors.

These people after spending so many years in the service retire at low rank while young boys work as their seniors. This disparity should be removed and promotions should be the only criteria in the police department.
