Quepem: Almost a month after Journalist Amit Naik and his friend were attacked by a group on the way to Netravali, Quepem police achieved a major breakthrough with the arrest of three persons.
Quepem police arrested Renito Francis Fernandes (Vasco), Mandar Shridhar Prabhu (Ponda) and David Joaquim Diniz (Ponda) on Tuesday while more arrests are likely to happen in connection with this case.
Police are investigating the angle of contract assault as none of the three accused had any rivalry with Naik.
On September 14, Amit while returning home in his vehicle was attacked by a group who had blocked his vehicle with blue colour Venue Car. The police had began extensive investigation into the case, checking all the CCTV footage on the way.
The investigating officer had prominently found Blue colour Venue car, which led police to the accused.
Police during their investigation had checked record of all the blue colour Hyudai cars in the state.
Sources stated that the car involved in the attack has also been identified by police and it is likely to be seized soon.
WHO GAVE THE CONTRACT?
Though it is not clear as to who gave the contract to attack Naik who has been raising several issues through his YouTube channel We For Sanguem, the police investigation will lead to the real culprit.
