TCP Board drafts Eco-Tourism policy

Panaji: The Town and Country Planning Board (TCP) chaired by Minister Vijai Sardesai today approved Eco-tourism Policy for promotion of agro and hinterland tourism in the State. 
Sardesai said that the Regional Plan 2021 promotes two eco-tourism policies one for hinterland eco tourism and other for agro based eco-tourism policy to supplement agriculture income through an alternate revenue sources.
He said upto 10,000 sq mtrs of area an FAR of 5 percent and more than 20,000 sq mtrs area FAR of 3 percent will be granted. “But we will not allow eco tourism projects in low lying paddy fields, khazan lands or private forest or protected forest,” Minister said.
“The condition laid down is that you cannot have ground plus one structure. The structure should be only ground floor built using local material only like laterite stone,” Sardesai explained
