TCP Board Declares 1.05 Crore Sq Metres in Salcette, Tiswadi as No Development Zone

Panaji: The Town and Country Planning (TCP) Board has notified more than 1.05 crore square metres of land in Salcette and Tiswadi talukas as No Development Zone (NDZ), according to an official notification issued on Friday.

The notification was issued following the approval of the TCP Board, which is chaired by State Town and Country Planning Minister Vishwajit Rane.

According to the notification, the land parcels brought under the NDZ include 5.93 lakh square metres in Cuncolim, 19.11 lakh square metres in Assolna, 28.12 lakh square metres in Velim, 31.84 lakh square metres in Sarzora, and 20.72 lakh square metres in Corlim.

The total area notified under the No Development Zone exceeds 1.05 crore square metres across villages in Salcette and Tiswadi talukas.

The notification is part of the state’s land-use planning process under the provisions of the Town and Country Planning Act. Land falling under the No Development Zone is protected from construction and other development activities in accordance with the applicable planning regulations, a senior TCP official said.
