Mobor: Tar ball menace has hit Mobor beach with thick layer of oil spread across the shoreline.

It has been usual phenomenon during monsoons that tar balls are surfacing on the beaches of Goa, but this time, the condition at Mobor beach has gone worst. Local claimed that no authorities have visited to clean up this  beach, which might cause environmental hazard.

Experts at National Institute of Oceanography have established that the oil tankers discharge their waste deep in the sea during April and May month. The discarded oil then gets carried to the beaches.

The local fishing community gets adverse affected as it impacts the breeding of shellfish, white crabs and other fishes that is harvested locally.
