Calangute: While criticising police for their lethargy has been usual for the media, when it comes to cracking the case of murder of four-year-old child, two officers DySP Vishwesh Karpe and PI Paresh Naik deserves appreciation.
Those privy to the details of the case would know that Suchana Seth after allegedly killing her son had left for Bengaluru with his body. The alert hotel staff found something amiss when they realised that she was insisting to travel in a taxi and also the child was not accompanying her.
After receiving a call, team of Calangute police had inspected the hotel room, only to find blood stains on the towel inside it. Police Inspector Paresh Naik was quick enough to connect to the accused through taxi driver and inquire about the blood stains, which Suchana claimed to be due to her monthly periods.
Naik’s investigative mind found this to be suspicious and then he took the help of cool-minded taxi driver to take her to the nearest police station.
Rest is history and our readers are well aware about how the case was exposed.
This case would have gone unnoticed, if not for the swift thinking of PI Paresh Naik and also guidance of DYSP Vishwesh Karpe and SP Nidhin Valsan.
Having inter-state links, Naik himself went to Chitradurga same night and ensured that the accused gets transit remand and investigations fall in place under the guidance of Karpe and Valsan.
It is unusual for any media house to praise police officers but in this case, GNH thought of giving special recognition to team led by Valsan, comprising DySP Karpe and PI Paresh Naik along with the other police officers who arrested the accused, racing against the time.
