Panaji: North Goa Planning and Development Authority (NGPDA) chairman Francis Silveira has welcomed the decision of TCP board to bifurcate Panaji planning area from his jurisdiction and to add it in Greater Panaji Planning and Development Authority (GPPDA).

GPPDA is headed by Panaji MLA Babush Monserrate.

Silveira said that he has no objection and is with Monserrate.

“I had never opposed it. I had just said I want to discuss it,” St Andre MLA said.

Silveira informed that during BJP MLA meeting held last month, there was a joint discussion on the issue between him, Monserrate, TCP Minister Babu Kavlekar and former NGPDA chairman and Minister Michael Lobo.

“The decision to bifurcate Panaji was unanimous,” he said.
