Mumbai: Entertainment and sports guru Shailendra Singh has always found a unique route to every one of his projects. With his massively successful Anthem4Good which united 1.4 billion Indians the world over, he now embarks on a new and purposeful journey. Commencing on a historic road rally right from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, Shailendra will travel the length and breadth of India with an ambition to unite Indians with the pure tune of this anthem One India, My India. Of the strong belief that all Indians are one, Shailendra will also live stream his journey on YouTube and Facebook in order to take viewers on the journey with him and showcase the cultural richness of our country. The rally starts on Gandhiji’s 150th birthday and continues for a couple of weeks.

7170 kilometers, 19 cities, 18 days and thousands of untold stories. Singh will meet people from all walks of life, interview heroes who have been celebrated and those whose victories have never reached the world, visit armed forces, agricultural villages, off-beat towns and share his diverse experiences with his viewers. While focusing on some of the important sites related to the life and legacy of Mahatma Gandhi, Singh’s strong belief in the varied offerings of this rich country gives him direction and purpose.

Shailendra says, “We are beginning our journey on the auspicious date of Gandhiji’s 150th birthday at the Gandhi Memorial, where his ashes are held. We will visit his museum in Mumbai and Ahmedabad, the point where he started the Dandi March. In his Mann ki Bhat of 25 August, Prime Minister Modi encouraged each citizen to remember, visit and share the legacy of Gandhiji. I will be visiting these sites, and so much more, and sharing the whole thing live, online, so that the entire world can be inspired by Gandhiji and the diversity and open-mindedness of this, the world’s largest democracy. The world will be watching.”

To illustrate his point, Shailendra draws attention to recent statements from people like U2 front man, Bono – “India brought this idea to the world that non-violence is more powerful than nuclear energy, armies, navies and the British empire. Non-violence is an idea that gave [India] the moral high ground in setting up the greatest democracy on earth.”

Throughout his journey across different cities, Shailendra will share the One India, My India/ Ek Bharat, Mera Bharat Anthem4Good, which he co-created with India’s most beloved composer, Mithoon and released on 23 April 2019. The anthem has won hearts globally and has planted itself firmly as a unifying anthem in the minds of listeners. Thrilled with the impact and response received from the people, Shailendra wants to celebrate his success with every Indian.

“I created the Anthem4Good to remind us that regardless of religion, caste or creed, we are all Indians. Our hearts beat the same. And the only thing that truly unites us, is love. I went to the streets of India – across 21 cities – to shoot the video for the anthem, and now, I am taking it right back there, to the people, to spread more love”, he signs off.
