Anjuna: Several hundred taxi operators owing their allegiance to Goa Miles gathered outside Anjuna Police Station last night after one of their fellow driver was attacked outside a hotel at Arpora.

The unprovoked attacked happened on Monday when the driver was on his duty. Three tourist taxi operators stopped the car and assaulted the car.

Entire assault was caught on cctv footage which we are uploading along with this news.

After the incident, formal complaint was lodged with Anjuna Police Station but the officers on duty were reluctant even to call the accused for inquiry despite naming them in the complaint.

Several hundred taxi operators who have empanelled their vehicles to Goa Miles gathered outside the police station demanding the action.

Sources stated that till Tuesday morning, the accused were not called at the police station.

The popularity of Goa Miles seems to have been frustrating the traditional tourist taxi lobby who despite being warned not to resort to violence have been trying to sabotage the app-based taxi operations in the state.
