Panaji: The Goa unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party has suggested seven names for the post of its President, the announcement of which is likely to be made at the end of this month.
Goa BJP President Sadanand Shet Tanavade told PTI on Saturday that the local party unit has recommended seven names for the post of Goa Unit President, which includes three former state ministers and a former MP.
He said that the announcement about the new President would be made from Delhi, mostly at the end of January, 2025.
Tanavade said that the list of probables includes three former state ministers — Dayanand Mandrekar, Dilip Parulekar and Chandrakant Kavlekar. Kavlekar was a former Deputy chief minister of the state.
Former Lok Sabha MP Narendra Sawaikar is also in the list of probables, he added.
He said that the list also includes former MLAs Dayanand Sopte and Damu Naik.
Tanavade added that senior party leader Govind Parvatkar.
