Panaji: Coastal Police arrested seven persons for illegal fishing activity off Cacra coast near Panaji.
Police also seized 300 kgs of fish which was handed over to the Department of Fisheries.
Revenue Minister Jeniffer Monserrate broke the news through her twitter handle. She tweeted “7 persons on an illegal pershing boat were detained off the coast of #Cacra for conducting illegal fishing activities within the prohibited nautical miles radius, with illicit fishing nets amongst other gross violations.”
“The seized 300 kgs of fish have been handed over to the Direc. Of Fisheries. I thank PI Siddhant & the #CoastalPolice team for their swift action in this case that has contributed in helping the local fishermen in #Cacra.”
