Panaji: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant mentored Non Government Organisation (NGO) on Saturday has rubbished media reports that it was benefitted from the funds reserved for the public welfare.
A section of media claimed that Sawant’s Sai Nursing Institute had benefitted from District Mineral Fund, a corpus collected from the mine owners to initiate welfare measures in the mining affected areas.
On Saturday evening, Chief minister’s office issued a clarification stating that “a scheme was approved under District Mineral Fund towards Sai Nursing Institute under rural development initiative in mining affected areas.”
“However, Sai Nursing Institute did not take any benefit of the scheme and no amount was disbursed to the institute by District Mineral Foundation,” it further adds.
The CMO has said that Sai Nursing Institute has written to District Mineral Foundation that the institute do not require any funding for any of its public service programmes.
