Kamat has also requested the family members of taxi operators especially children and wives to remain at home and not risk their lives by protesting at Azad Maidan. “Collector has informed me that he will hold a meeting at 5:30 to take a final call on whether to allow protest or not and communicate its conclusion by 8 PM”
The taxi operators were enraged today (17 April) after they realized that they wont get approval to protest at Azad Maidan today “we are being denied permission to protest because government is putting pressure on authorities who are given the powers to issue us permission”, the protestors also asserted that they would continue to protest even if it leads to dire consequences.
