Raksha Mantri Nirmala Seetharaman launches GSL Yard 1233 Off Shore Patrol Vessel

Vasco: Union Defence Minister Nirmala Seetharaman commissioned Indian Coast Guard’s Off Shore Patrol Vessel `Yard 1233 at Vasco.

The ship built for Indian Coast Guard is one of the five off shore patrol vessels being constructed by Public Sector undertaking – Goa Shipyard Limited at Vasco.

The project was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in November 2016.

Overall length of the ship is 105 metres and displacement of 2,350 tonnes at full load. The Ship will have endurance of 6,00 nautical miles.

Team of 14 officers will be commanding the Ship with total crew of 133 personnel.

The ship is capable of taking mission in all weather condition. The primary function of patrolling and policing of Indian Economic Zone.
