Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana to be launched on Sunday in Goa

Panaji: Goa along with 26 States will roll out the Central Government’s flagship healthcare scheme ‘Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY)’ on Sunday.

Total of 36,539 families that include 21,371 from rural areas and 15,168 in urban are identified to be eligible for PMJAY. All the 447 procedures under Deen Dayal Swasthya Seva Yojana  (DDSSY) will be also available at empanelled private hospitals under PMJAY at same rates prescribed under DDSSY.

State Health Agency has been created under National Health Mission/Goa State Health Society. Currently to start with, four Hospitals- Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC), North and South Goa District Hospitals and Sub District Hospital, Ponda are been empanelled and are ready for launch.

Goa Governor Dr Mridula Sinha will launch the scheme at a State level function to be held on Sunday morning.

 Union Minister of State for Aayush (IC) Sripad Naik, Minister for Public Work Department Ramkrishna Dhavlikar, Minister for Town and Country Planning Vijay Sardesai, Minister for Revenue Rohan Khaunte, Minister for Art and Culture Govind Gaunde, Minister for Health Vishwajeet Rane, Member of Parliament Narendra Sawaikar, Member of Rajyasabha Vinay Tendulkar and others will be present for the launch.
