Panaji: Town and country planning minister Vishwajit Rane on Monday announced that the Pernem zoning plan has been kept in abeyance.
Rane held a press conference to announce the decision to keep the controversial plan in abeyance. He said that the decision was taken after consulting chief minister Pramod Sawant and the central leadership.
Mandrem MLA Jit Arolkar had led the agitation against the zoning plan. Reacting to the statement of Rane, Arolkar said that they stand by their demand of scrapping the plan.
