Panaji: Town and Country Planning Minister Vishwajit Rane on Friday said that all other areas of Penha De France Panchayat except the High Court Building, Secretariat Building and Assembly Complex would not be a part of NGPDA.
Rane’s announcement came after Porvorim MLA and Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte met him at his residence on Friday raising concerns about “certain areas of Penha de France Panchayat being included in the NGPDA.”
The TCP minister clarified that except for the High Court Building, Secretariat Building and Assembly Complex, all other areas are excluded. He said that these three buildings are part of NGDPA for “administrative planning purpose.”
During his discussion with Rane, Khaunte said that the largely there is sentiments of the people of the Penha de France is that they do not want to be part of the Outline Development Plan. He said that he has no objection of three government structures being included in the NGPDA for planning purpose but other areas which were shown in the plan should be excluded.
Rane said that the notification in this regard would be issued in next 2-3 days, which will omit all the other areas. He said that the notification would not be issued without getting it vetted from Khaunte.
