Adv. Aires Rodrigues has today appealed to Panaji MLA Babush Monserrate to publicly acknowledge that despite being in the ruling party he has been unable to ensure that Goa’s historic and prime Old Ribandar Hospital was preserved and not given away needlessly to a Tamil Nadu company for an Ayurvedic research centre.

Reminding Babush Monserrate that when a delegation of Ribandar residents had met him two years ago, that he had solemnly promised that the medical facilities at the Old Ribandar Hospital would be restored hook or by crook, Adv. Rodrigues has stated that the people had stopped trusting Politicians on account of such fake and dubious promises.

Reacting to Panaji MLA’s statement that medical facilities would be eventually provided for the residents of Ribandar on the second floor of the Old Ribandar hospital, Adv. Rodrigues while expressing his concern whether Monserrate had even inspected the Old Ribandar Hospital has stated that the ICU and other critical facilities had to be made accessible on the ground floor as was done for ages and that a research center could have been on any floor.

Expressing no surprise at the Panaji MLA’s u-turn on the issue, Adv. Rodrigues while branding Monserrate as a master of all U-turns has recalled as to how after solemnly promising to get rid of the Casinos from the River Mandovi in 100 days, he had suddenly fallen in love with the Casino mafia after they agreed to hire for their clients the rooms of the Panaji MLA’s two hotels at Miramar.
