Panaji: Goa legislative assembly speaker Ramesh Tawadkar on Monday said that the behaviour of opposition benches was condemnable.

Talking to reporters, Tawadkar said that he had to order suspension of all the seven opposition MLAs as their behaviour was unruly on the floor of the House.

The Speaker said that the opposition members disturbed the ruling MLA Jit Arolkar when he was speaking on the floor of the House.

He said that the members even went to the bench of chief minister Pramod Sawant and Health Minister Vishwajit Rane.

The speaker said that after the suspension, the opposition members have sent him a request to reconsider their suspension claiming that their behaviour was a mistake.

The opposition members were suspended for two days on the floor of the House after they protested in the House and snatched mike of a ruling member on Monday.

The members were protesting against Speaker’s action of disallowing the private members resolution moved by AAP MLA Cruz Silva on Manipur violence
