Morjim: Chief minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday took a break from his political and administrative tweets to speak about Olive Ridley turtle nesting at Morjim beach in North Goa.
State Forest department has reserved certain areas at Morjim and Mandrem (North Goa) and Agonda and Galjibag (South Goa) as turtle nesting sites protecting them from any human interventions.
Sawant on Wednesday posted a video of Olive Ridley turtles running on the beach after Sunset.
“Amazing wonders of nature! Olive Ridley turtle hatchings emerging out ofrm the last nest at Morjim. Along with Morjim, Mandrem, Agonda and Galgibag are important beaches in Goa which attracts turtle for nesting,” he tweeted.
Earlier last week, Sawant had tweeted about spotting of Black Panther in Netravali Wildlife Sanctuary in South Goa.
