Panaji : National students’ Union of India in association with North Goa District Blood Bank held a blood donation camp at Bodgeshwar Temple hall in Mapusa. People of all ages participated to donate blood. GPCC President Girish Chodankar, Councilor of ward no.5 Mapusa, Shashank Narvekar, NSUI leaders Ahraz Mulla and Naushad Chowdhari were also present among others at the camp.
Speaking to the media NSUI President Ahraz Mulla said “The government health machinery has failed at every front, be it providing oxygen cylinders or beds, the situation at the hospitals is quite dire. We are doing our bit to contribute and try to remedy the current situation we are in, by organising blood donation camp”
NSUI North Goa President Naushad Chowdhari inferred “There might be a shortage of blood in the future as people cannot donate blood after they are vaccinated hence we have organised this camp. I also request the Government that they should organise blood donation camps to ensure that blood scarcity does not arise in the future”
GPCC President Girish Chodankar thanked the blood bank authorities for setting up their units and making this blood donation camp a success. The camp began at 9:30 AM and ended at 1:00 PM.
