Bardez Block Development Officer (BDO) Shivprasad Naik under whose jurisdiction is located that controversial “Silly Souls Café and Bar” at Assagao, allegedly being run by the family of Union Minister for Women and Child Development Smriti Irani has issued a notice to the local Assagao Panchayat directing them to furnish all documents within seven days in respect to the alleged illegal Bar & Restaurant.

The directions have been issued after Goa’s Director of Panchayats Siddhi Harlankar through her officer on 27th July issued a Memorandum to the Bardez BDO to take necessary action on the complaint filed by Adv. Aires Rodrigues against the alleged illegal Restaurant.

Once again reiterating that the people of Goa are entitled to know the whole truth on this now disputed Restaurant, Adv. Rodrigues has appealed to Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, that he and his Ministers should not exert political pressure, and must enable the concerned Excise, Panchayat and Town & Country Planning officials to conduct a free and fair inquiry on the entire issue to unravel the whole truth in this case.

Stating that any political interference in this issue would not be tolerated, Adv. Rodrigues has further stated that there was now mounting evidence that the family of Smriti Irani has been running this now beleaguered Restaurant since its inception in 2021.

Pointing out that Union Minister for Women and Child Development Smriti Irani would no longer be able to dodge and circumvent the factual truth on this issue, Adv. Rodrigues has once again publicly appealed to her to come forward with the facts, which anyways are now already all part of the official records and in public domain across the world.
