Fatorda: Goa Forward Party President, Fatorda MLA and TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai credited several of the developmental works in his constituency to chief minister Manohar Parrikar “under whose visionary leadership the State government is formed.”

Sardesai was speaking after commissioning the first phase work for “Demolition and Reconstruction of Margao Government Industrial Training Institute and Government Multipurpose Higher Secondary School.

“If Parrikar was not there then we would not have been able to do such kind of works. We had formed this government to do the public works, which otherwise, would have been impossible to execute,” Sardesai said after unveiling the plaque in presence of former minister Luis Alex Cardoso, MMC Chairperson Babita Angle, Chief Officer Siddhivinayak Naik, officers from Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation and others.

“We have a visionary leadership in the form of Manohar Parrikar. He has said that the education is necessary and knowledge is power. And if we want better Goa in the future, the investment should go for investment in the education sector. We need to bring better infrastructure project,” Sardesai added.

The Fatorda MLA said that his party is committed to fulfill all the promises made in Election Manifesto.

“We have to answer one question. Why do we need to contest election? We come out with the election manifesto. There is a fashion to come out with manifesto after every five years, hold a press conference to unveil it and then throw it in dustbin,” he commented.

“We formed the government to execute these things. Even when we were in opposition these issues were raised. But many things I could not do. But exceptionally Parrikar did so many things for Fatorda including road widening from new Collectorate building to Agali,” he added.

The new building is being constructed with an estimated cost of Rs 24 crores and it will be completed in stipulated time of 18 months. The total campus includes two of the existing structures, a proposed school building, a cricket ground and a football ground with entrance plaza.

The building has lower ground, ground and three upper floors and it is spread over 7948.46 square metres. There will be 34 classrooms and eight labouratories.
