Agassaim: 70-year-old woman and her son died when a wall of their house collapsed on them at Mandur village, 10 kms away from Panaji on Monday, due to incessant rains.
A senior official from Agassaim police station said that the incident was noticed at 2.45 pm when second son of the woman returned home.
He said that Maria Rodrigues (70) and her son, Alfred (51) died after backside wall of their house collapsed on them. “Both were crushed under the rubbles, who were later retrieved by locals,” he said.
Police said that her second son when he arrived in the afternoon saw wall collapsed and his mother and brother inside the pile of rubbles.
Both the bodies are shifted to Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim for conducting postmortem on them, he said.
